Boot camp style workout. At Woodland Park. Two large Playgrounds, Frisbee Golf Course, 1 Mile Dirt Track, HUGE Field. Plenty of space here to craft a diabolical smokefest for even the strongest PAX.
Park at Grace Church off of East Boundary Drive.
SATURDAYS always followed up with 2nd F (fellowship) at Lamplight Cafe and Bakery located at 121 W. Indiana ave. Great opportunity to get to know members of F3 Black Swamp and refuel from the workout.

Saturday Fun at Fortress
Date: August 1, 2020
Time: 6:30am to 7:30am
Location: The Fortress
PAX: 24 total – Geppetto, Coconut, Chopstick, Biggie, Flo, Casper, Lavar, Ellis, Heisenberg, Charmin, Hannibal, Jennay, Wipers, Snap Crackle Pop (FNG), Teddy (FNG), Mulan, Doubtfire, Fossil, Venom, Van Gogh, Nimbus, Peach, Enron, Peach
Two FNG’s this morning so I made sure to explain the three F’s, Mission and Principles
F3 – Fitness, Fellowship, Faith
Mission –Plant, grow and serve small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership.
The core principles of F3 are that it must:
Be free of charge
Be open to all men
Be held outdoors, rain or shine, heat or cold (except when the governor says we have to stay home)
Be led by men who participate in the workout in a rotating fashion, with no training or certification necessary. You versus you. Modify or stop an exercise if you need to. The most important thing is that nobody gets hurt.
End with a Circle of Trust
To honor the memory of Jackson Weis, we did (14) each Side Straddle Hops, Chainbreakers and Imperial Walkers in cadence.
The “Thang”: One minute AMRAP, 15 second transitions. After every five exercises we performed 10 burpees and then ran the small ¼ mile dirt track around the playground.
Group 1 Mountain Climbers, Flutter Kicks, Curls, Prisoner Squats, Carolina Dry Docks
Group 2 Side Straddle Hops, LBC’s, KB Swings, Imperial Walkers, Merkins
Group 3 Plank Jack Shoulder Taps, Leg Lifts, Squat Presses, Absolutions, Plank
Group 4 Smurf Jacks, BBSU, Time called
We ended in a Circle of Trust with Count-O-Rama, Name-O-Rama, The Six, Naming of FNG’s Announcements and a prayer. Charmin was the Six and talked about the life situations he’s been through and how F3 has helped get him through tough times. He encouraged PAX to get involved in all three F’s and not just 1st F. Grab beer, go to breakfast, join a bible study. Aye!
Prayers for Flo’s son Rob, the Weis family, my father’s heart surgery, and for peace across the world.
YHC read a portion of the essay written by the late John Lewis that he asked by released upon his death:
“Though I may not be here with you, I urge you to answer the highest calling of your heart and stand up for what you truly believe. In my life I have done all I can to demonstrate that the way of peace, the way of love and nonviolence is the more excellent way. Now it is your turn to let freedom ring.
When historians pick up their pens to write the story of the 21st century, let them say that it was your generation who laid down the heavy burdens of hate at last and that peace finally triumphed over violence, aggression and war. So I say to you, walk with the wind, brothers and sisters, and let the spirit of peace and the power of everlasting love be your guide.” -John Lewis
Moleskin/Spreadsheet from the Gloom:
