PAX: Lyman, FNG (FreeTime), Stark, Fraction, Mercy, Orange Kilt, Woodstock, Isosceles, Coconut (Q)
The men gathered with their cinder blocks at the shovel flag for a prompt 5:30 start with Mission and core principles. FNG was introduced to the group.
6 exercises to be used in the workout were demo’d:
– American Hammers—2 is 1 with cinder block
– Manmakers
– Blocky Crossovers—2 is 1: plank position with one hand on block and other on ground, shift sideways to switch block- and ground-hand, then go back.
– Globetrotters—100 each way. Pass the block behind your back from one hand to the other, and bring around to the front, then reverse direction and go back around the other way.
– Curls
– Step-Ups—100 each leg
~32 minutes of hard work.
Stations were set up around the field. at each station, one exercise was called for, and targeted at 100 reps. Go to burnout if you don’t get to 100, then move to a different station (PAX choice) and perform the requisite move there. Any time you finish a station, i.e. achieve the 100th cumulative rep, take a victory lap around the block.
COR, NOR. Orange Kilt gave a great 6–this is a man, who, new to F3, was already accelerating and is bringing new energy to the group. Chat him up about his cancer awareness work and other community involvement!
FNG Rob Parcell entered the circle and gave some background on himself–when asked about hobbies, he responded that he just doesn’t have any free time, and hence received his name.
The group dispersed into the early morning drizzle to a great day of making an impact. An honor and a pleasure to serve this group, as always.
