New AO: Pearson Park, home of the Thursday Ruck has now been dubbed, “The Mud Hole.” This embraces the rich history of the Black Swamp, where settlers did their best to avoid mud holes that could swallow their horses and wagons. Rucked to the hill, over the hill, and back to the parking area. We did not stop. We continued around the small loop near the observation deck. While on the small loop, Deliverance “Heisman” Maletich stripped the 30# sandbag (Franco #32) from Raven and high-stepped into the “endzone”. It was quite dramatic & mildly entertaining.
We finished the small loop with 25 pack-on merkins. Just when it seemed that we were finishing with a nice leisurely stroll back to our vehicles, our QiC decided we would lunge-walk, packs on, the distance of the parking lot. It was at this point the YHC (Raven) decided it may have been a poor choice to bring that 30# coupon all for himself… oof.
