Topic of discussion: the prodigal son. Here are some of the questions I was pulling from:

    1. How do you relate to the characters in the parable of the prodigal son (the younger son, the elder son, the father)?
    2. In what ways have you experienced moments of “prodigal living” or rebellion in your own life? How did you find reconciliation or forgiveness?
    3. Reflect on times when you’ve acted like the elder son, feeling entitled or resentful. How can you cultivate a more compassionate and forgiving attitude?
    4. How does the concept of “homecoming” resonate with you personally? What does it mean for you to return to your true self or to God?
    5. Consider Nouwen’s exploration of the painting “The Return of the Prodigal Son” by Rembrandt. What emotions or insights does the painting evoke in you?
    6. Reflect on the role of forgiveness in your relationships. Are there areas where you struggle to forgive or seek forgiveness?
    7. How can you embody the qualities of the father in the parable, showing unconditional love and acceptance to others?
    8. What lessons can you draw from the parable of the prodigal son to apply to your own spiritual journey or personal growth?
    9. Are there areas in your life where you need to let go of pride or self-righteousness, and instead embrace humility and grace?
    10. How can you actively seek reconciliation and healing in relationships that have been broken or strained?

Cot: I took the 6 and we kept it brief!
