PAX:
Photon – Q
Spaulding
Ukulele

Workout: Photon’s Nature Run

FNG’s: N/A

Mission and Principles:
F3: Fitness, Fellowship, Faith
Mission: To plant, grow and serve small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership.
The core principles of F3 are that it is always:
1. Free of charge
2. Open to all men
3. Held outdoors, rain or shine, heat or cold
4. Led by men who participate in the workout in a rotating fashion, with no training or certification necessary. You versus you. Modify or stop an exercise if you need to. The most important thing is that nobody gets hurt.
5. Ends with a Circle of Trust
Credo: Leave no man behind but leave no man where you find him

Warm-up: N/A

The “Thang”:

I was asked to put the Nature Run into action, so this was attempt number one. Ran to Woodlands via 2nd street, around the large Woodlands loop, and back to The Pump Station via 6th street. Every time we saw a non domesticated animal, we immediately stopped running and performed the associated exercise. Exercises were the following:

Rabbit: 5 Murder Bunnies (sans block)
Squirrel: 5 Flying Squirrels
Raccoon: 5 Racoon Crawl steps (2 is 1)
Duck or Goose: 5 Duck Walk steps (2 is 1)
Deer: 5 A-Skip steps (2 is 1)
Skunk: 10 Absolutions

Ended with:
Count-O-Rama: 3
Name-O-Rama

The Six – Spaulding

Ball of Man

Spreadsheets from the Gloom: 65F and humid-ish. This is an awesome format, but it is very dependent on route. This morning’s route did not disappoint thanks to the 2nd Street onslaught. The morning’s 35 minute run saw the PAX encounter 5 ducks (in the river), 2 geese (flying overhead), and…32 rabbits. That is 18 more rabbits than the month’s prior rabbit run. Good thing we did murder bunnies instead of burpees for rabbits this time around, because we didn’t have time 160 burpees in a 35 minute run.

One other note on this format…I imagine that it works better when all PAX are moving at the same pace (whether rucking or running) as you get more eyes on the surrounding area and are more likely to spot all of the wildlife.

Thanks for the guys who showed up for this one, was a pleasure to lead and it will be back.
