  1. Welcome
    F3 Mission and Core Principles

I’ve been planning the basics of this beatdown for so long I forget where the initial idea came from. The dream was PAX dragging a sandbag from one end of Wakanda’s main island to the other in a non-stop beatdown. Diving deep into the “free” portion of F3 I eventually acquired a 120lb GoRuck sandbag and 500 feet of rope (that just so happened to be a brilliant shade of orange, my favorite color!) I was ready to make this dream a reality. Turns out 120 pounds at the end of 250 feet of rope is heavier than I thought so before anyone arrived, I had to rush and downsize to about 60. I was so nervous about this workout going well after all the prep work that I had 2 dreams; one where I woke up at 07:41 and the other where I didn’t get to the beatdown until 05:41. Luckily things went pretty smoothly, check it out below!

The Thang: May The Rope Be With You

A 60LB sandbag was secured with Yoda himself and a light to the top at one end of the island and an obtuse amount of rope on either end. At the center was a light marking the stopping point for pulling. We moseyed to the other side where one PAX pulled the bag to the center while the other’s did what I called Mermaids (gas pumpers while also making a snow angle movement with your arms). Once the bag was in the center we moseyed to the other end and the next PAX pulled while the group did Mermaids. Our cadence held and we stayed together as a group while PLENTY of great rope jokes kept the mumblechatter going. Eventually the exercises grumblechattered into LBC’s, squats, burpee’s and almost a free for all, which was ok for this test run. Everyone received a free orange tint to their gloves and we even saw the grass had some orange on it too. The bag was frosty from the morning dew and everyone had a great time. I was freed to lead and making this beatdown happen along with compliments from the PAX and the soreness I felt today was really rewarding. A special shout out to Buttercup who started JUST THIS WEEK and hasn’t missed a beatdown yet, VERY impressive! I received some good feedback about this beatdown and will definitely be bringing it to an AO near you! Sled of War, Swamp Sack, I’m sure I’ll think of something memorable.

Count-o-Rama: I failed do this at the beginning and end of the beatdown, DOH!

    Name-o-Rama: Skipped this as well!

The Six (F3 name): We even forgot the 6!! (Buttercup I even pre-counted to make sure it was you, my apologies I want to hear your story.)
Announcements: I skipped right to announcements and the prayer before we cleaned up.

It seems that everyone had such a great time touching my rope that no one else remembered name-o-rama or the six until we were already home. The only cure is for me to Q more and better learn to not skip the basics no matter how nervous or excited I am to touch some wet rope and a heavy sack with a few good men at 5:30AM
