We meet in the backside parking lot of the Fort Meigs Historic Site take Rapids Rd right before the bridge to Maumee to find us
What the ruck is a ruck? A hike with a weighted backpack (approx 30 lbs) while stopping along the brisk walk to do some invigorating exercise. Excellent 1st F (fitness) and 2nd F (fellowship). If an FNG (Friendly New Guy) is a bit timid to post for a workout the ruck is a great intro to the pax.

The Ruck:
We went for 2.65 miles with PT and Trivia Stops.
1st Non-Indigenous Fort in the Ohio Territory was Fort Miami Established by the French Governor to Canada in 1680
1795 – As a result of the French and Indian War, the Treaty of Greensville (with the Ottawa Indian Tribe) gave the US the Twelve Mile Square Reservation with Fort Miami at the center. The 12 mile square encompassed modern Downtown Perrysburg, along with parts of Maumee and Toledo.
War of 1812 – Resulted in the building of Fort Meigs by General William Henry Harrison in February 1813. At the time Fort Meigs was the largest wood fort in North America. Post war the Orleans settlement was started at the foot of the Fort Meigs hill.
Perrysburg was established in 1816, named for Commander Oliver Hazzard Perry.
William Henry Harrison became our 9th President. He died 32 days after he took office from pneumonia.
