“Blackjack–Double Down”
PAX–Gulliver, Mercy, Woodstock, Coconut (Q)
~30 degrees, light snow, ~1″ on the track.
Thang:
2 work stations, one at either end of the straight-away on the track.
Simple instructions–complete a ’21’ of Burpees on one end and Absolutions on the other end, for time.
Outcome–had to call it on time at 6:10. Even with starting at 0515, nobody was able to finish. But everybody put in significant work and got much better. Gulliver 6 with terrific wisdom–paraphrased “get the hard things done before you have the chance to talk yourself out of doing it”.
have to bring this one back in the warmer months when we can do it in the grass. everyone went away with bruised elbows, hoarse from the deep breathing, and screaming shoulders. if one were to finish the entire WOD, it’s 210 Burpees, 210 absolutions and 4k running (2.5 miles).
YHC made it as far as 3/18 for a total of 207 Burpees, 171 absolutions and 3.6k.
Sadly, no merlot was seen, but probably just because all the pax were badasses. Gulliver even wore a vest for extra challenge.
