The beautiful track and football field make this a great AO to push your limits. Foundry is gaining a reputation as the toughest AO in Black Swamp. Don’t say we didn’t warn you…

  1. Backblast: February 5th, 2024

AO: The Foundry – Gateway Middle School – Maumee, OH

    PAX:
    Photon – Q
    Chubbs
    Coconut
    Meatloaf
    Rudy
    Van Wilder
    Weber
    Woodstock

    Workout: Flew the Coop(er)

    FNG’s: N/A

    Mission and Principles:
    F3: Fitness, Fellowship, Faith
Mission: To plant, grow and serve small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership.
The core principles of F3 are that it is always:
    1. Free of charge
    2. Open to all men
    3. Held outdoors, rain or shine, heat or cold
    4. Led by men who participate in the workout in a rotating fashion, with no training or certification necessary. You versus you. Modify or stop an exercise if you need to. The most important thing is that nobody gets hurt.
    5. Ends with a Circle of Trust
Credo: Leave no man behind but leave no man where you find him

    Warm-up: In cadence

    SSH (2 is 1) – 36
    Windmills (2 is 1) – 11
    Chainbreakers – 11

    The “Thang”:

The D.B. Cooper – A “hijacked” hybrid of The Cooper and The Sheldon Cooper.

PAX run one 400m lap around track followed by: 10 man-makers (Blockees)s, 10 Squat Thrusters, and 10 WWIII Situps. PAX run one 400m lap around track. Then 9,9, 9 of same. Repeato down to 1 of each rep.

    Ended with:
    Count-O-Rama: 8
    Name-O-Rama

    The Six – Woodstock

    Ball of Man

Spreadsheets from the Gloom: 28F and dry. This BD seems very balanced in terms of difficulty. While no PAX completed it in its entirety, Coconut did get down to the last lap, suggesting it is achievable in the future, especially after a truncated warm-up.

The playlist documented a chicken’s journey as he attempted to fly the confines of his coop. I have to assume that it mirrors what D.B. Cooper pondered on that fateful day back in 1971.

    “Fly Away” – Lenny Kravitz
“Learning to Fly” – Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
“Learn to Fly” – Foo Fighters
    “Given to Fly” –Pearl Jam
“Fly Like an Eagle” – Steve Miller Band
“Birds of a Feather” – Phish
    “Free Bird” – Lynyrd Skynyrd

It was a pleasure to lead.
