  1. Backblast: January 15th, 2024

AO: The Foundry – Gateway Middle School – Maumee, OH

    PAX:
    Photon – Q
    Coconut
    Echo
    Isosceles
    Lyman
    Meatloaf
    Van Wilder

    Workout: Bon Appétit!

    FNG’s: N/A

    Mission and Principles:
    F3: Fitness, Fellowship, Faith
Mission: To plant, grow and serve small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership.
The core principles of F3 are that it is always:
    1. Free of charge
    2. Open to all men
    3. Held outdoors, rain or shine, heat or cold
    4. Led by men who participate in the workout in a rotating fashion, with no training or certification necessary. You versus you. Modify or stop an exercise if you need to. The most important thing is that nobody gets hurt.
    5. Ends with a Circle of Trust
Credo: Leave no man behind but leave no man where you find him

    Warm-up (Meal Prep): In cadence

    Potato Pickers – 10
    Pickle Pounders (2 is 1) – 10

    The “Thang” (The Menu):

Hors d’oeuvres: Performed as 11’s, because you need to mix it up while grazing over multiple hors d’oeuvres.
    Crab Cakes (2 is 1)
    Pretzel Sticks (2 is 1)

    Appetizers:
Welsh Dragon Roll – Welsh Dragon while rolling cinder block during bear crawl. Went up to 6 reps each, to represent the 6 pieces of an Americanized sushi roll.

    Main Entrée:
Quarter Pounder: 25 yards – American Hammers (2 is 1). 50 yards – squats. 75 yards – mountain climbers. 100 yards – SSH. Originally had it penciled in as a quarter pounder with cheese, but decided to remove the cheese due to the environmental conditions.

The PAX ran out of room after the main entrée and were unable to finish off the remaining courses: the side (squat potato) and the dessert (sugar cookies).

    Ended with:
    Count-O-Rama: 7
    Name-O-Rama

    The Six – Meatloaf

    Ball of Man

Spreadsheets from the Gloom: -17F windchill (yes, that is a negative sign), dry, with a light wind. Workout seemed to keep everyone relatively warm. Overall difficulty was pretty good, especially given the temperature. Would have liked to have gotten through the entire menu as the dessert was a fun one, but ran out of time. Perhaps the 11’s could have been sped up via rep count or exercise choice. Also, need to align on how 11’s is run as there seem to be a few different interpretations.

Eclectic mix of tunes was played whose titles or artists coincided with the theme of food and eating. For those interested:

    Radiohead – “Bangers + Mash”
Dr. John – “Food for Thot”
Red Hot Chili Peppers – “Coffee Shop”
    G. Love & Special Sauce – “Milk and Cereal”
Mother Love Bone – “Come Bite the Apple”
North Mississippi Allstars – “Goat Meat”
    Pearl Jam – “Swallowed Whole”
Red Hot Chili Peppers – “Taste the Pain”
The String Cheese Incident – “Come as You Are”

Very humbled to have such a turnout in the frigid conditions. It was a pleasure to lead.
