Boot camp style workout at the Shops at Fallen Timbers. Group will meet next to the movie theater. Easy access to the Wabash Cannonball Trail for some running or rucking. Also, plenty of blacktop to make use of, not to mention a little green space across from the theater.

  1. Backblast for the battlefield 11/18/23

    PAX
    Chopstick
    Huckleberry
    One Man Band
    Swan
    Doubtfire
    Manchester
    Astro
    Irish Hoss
    Buttercup
    Runt
    Norm
    Rudy
    Thai Guy
    Sparrow

    Mission and Core Principles
    Warmup mosey around the theater.
Intro to the leadership theme of the workout VAPE
Vision: have a clear picture of the better state than now
Articulation: explain your vision to the PAX so they know what to do
    Persuasion: Get them started
exhortation: Keep them going when it gets tough
    Bear Crawl-hand release ladder.

Form into 3 teams of 5 PAX.
Self organize tallest to shortest. Tallest is first leader. Leader role rotates to next pax in line each ‘phase’ of the workout.
Workout is a 21. there are 3 ‘lanes’ for the teams, cones are 200′ apart.
Team must all finish all reps at one cone before moving to the other side for the complimentary part.

    THANG:
Per pax (5 pax per team), complete these rep counts
20 Peter Parker 1 Captain Thorcury
19 Peter Parker 2 Captain Thorcury
18 Peter Parker 3 Captain Thorcury
17 Peter Parker 4 Captain Thorcury
16 Peter Parker 5 Captain Thorcury
With the movement between cones being Karaoke
for the first set (20 and 1) all 5 team members perform the reps. Subsequently, the team leader does not do reps, but apportions the extra among the other 4 pax in the best way he can to complete in the minimum time. That’s phase 1.
Phase 2 is 15/6 through 11/10 with the reps being Pickle pounders and BBSU, while the movement is skipping. New leader–again does the reps the first time, and subsequently doles them out to the team.
Phase 3 is 10/11 to 6/15 of Perfect Push-up and 4:1 American Hammer with the movement being gallop. New leader
Phase 4 is 5/16 to 1/20 of P6 (Peter Parker Pickle Pounder Perfect Pushup) and Freddy Mercury. Movement is run until the last round. Then the whole squad does bear crawl down and crawl bear back.

Alas none of the teams finished in time, but all got quite close, at least beginning crawl bear, or finishing the big set of freddys.

Most of the PAX took a turn as team lead. Guys had different methods of spreading out the extra reps based on the strength/pace of the PAX on their team so everyone could stay together. Interesting microcosm of leadership styles under stress. Next time will throw in some Chaos too :).

COT-Manchester 6. Mega-wise comment about gratitude. TY Manchester for sharing.

Honored to be able to bring the DRP to the battlefield today. Inspired to have put in work alongside such a great group of men.
