Opportunities are endless in Waterville, OH! Meet in the library parking lot and be prepared for some fun. Maybe we will use the adjacent park, maybe will will mosey on down to the Maumee river. You never know what The Armory will bring.

    Workout: The Tim Follin Experience

    FNG’s: N/A

    Mission and Principles:
    F3: Fitness, Fellowship, Faith
Mission: To plant, grow and serve small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership.
The core principles of F3 are that it is always:
    1. Free of charge
    2. Open to all men
    3. Held outdoors, rain or shine, heat or cold
    4. Led by men who participate in the workout in a rotating fashion, with no training or certification necessary. You versus you. Modify or stop an exercise if you need to. The most important thing is that nobody gets hurt.
    5. Ends with a Circle of Trust
Credo: Leave no man behind but leave no man where you find him

    Warm-up: In super-secret-cadence

    21s: SSH (2 is 1) – 21

    The “Thang”:

This was inspired by the programming legend himself, Tim Follin. The guy was the GOAT at 8/16bit video game music with his unique ability to push the hardware to its absolute limits. And as much fun as it would have been to simply listen to his tunes during any old beatdown, YHC wanted to channel the inner programmer of the PAX and write our own progressive ladder beatdown in real time. No mulligans. The rep counts were pre-established, but the exercises (lines of code) were written by the PAX in a randomly generated order. Re-Load established the burpee as the first line of the program, Echo wrote up the rifle carry as our MOT, and we were off. Upon completion of the current round, the next PAX would write in the next exercise (line of code) to be added to the ladder (program), with each successive exercise requiring more reps while also including all previous rounds’ exercises. One faulty line of code had the potential to throw the entire ladder out of whack, which happened, thanks to Vespa. See the Program below:

    Rd. Reps Exercise Programmer
    1 5 Burpees Re-load
    2 10 Curls Irish Hoss
    3 15 Flutters(4is1) Peach
    4 20 Mike Tysons Waldo
    5 25 Lt. Dans Vespa
    6 30 Hammers(2is1)Viper
    7 35 Squats Rudy
    8 40 Fred. Mercs Norm
    9 45 Sven
    10 50 Mr. Anderson
    MOT N/A Rifle Carry Echo

    Ended with:
    Count-O-Rama: 15
    Name-O-Rama

    The Six – Irish Hoss

    Ball of Man

Spreadsheets from the Gloom: 50F and dry was perfect weather for a BD. This was a fun one. Simple premise, but difficult to execute as seen by the Lt. Dan’s that entered the ladder at the 25 rep count. Lead PAX only got to the middle of round 8, so there is plenty of room for improvement the next time around. Will be a fun ongoing challenge to come up with ladders that are able to completed the full ten rounds while remaining challenging. Was expecting more exercises with the block overall. Echo’s rifle carry was a nice MOT choice.

The playlist of the day was The Tim Follin Experience: a collection of YHC favorite chiptune tracks composed and programmed by the master himself, Tim Follin.

“Solstice: Title Intro” – Tim Follin (NES)
“Solstice: Title” – Tim Follin (NES)

“Silver Surfer: Title” – Tim Follin (NES)
“Silver Surfer: Section BGM 1” – Tim Follin (NES)
“Silver Surfer: Ranking” – Tim Follin (NES)
“Treasure Master: Title” – Tim Follin (NES)

“Spider-Man and the X-Men in Arcade’s Revenge: Briefing” – Tim Follin (SNES)

It was a pleasure to lead. Always good to get out to the Armory. Sorry if you hated the music.
