  1. Backblast for the Gauntlet 1/10/2022

PAX: Oil Change, Huckleberry, Doubtfire, Callahan, Dutch, Bellhop, Isosceles, Bourbon, Coconut (Q)

It was a balmy 18 degrees at go-time, with windchill down to 4-ish. Everybody came and left with warm hearts, if not faces and toes.

Intro–The mission of F3 is to plant/serve and grow small workout groups for men to invigorate male community leadership. There are 5 core principles. F3 workouts are
    – open to all men
    – free
    – led in rotation by crazy guys that don’t mind the freezing cold
    – always outdoors
    – end in a circle of trust

    THANG:
QIC set up a loop around the gauntlet parking lot with 7 stations. Goal is to complete 7 laps. every station is 7 reps of an exercise. Theme of the workout is “lucky 7s” with pax hoping to hit the ‘jack’pot. I like play on words…what can I say.

Moved into warmup straight away to keep pax moving and from getting frozen. For warm-up, we moseyed from station to station for everyones first lap together, and so that exercises could be demo’d.

    1- groiners
2- chillicut (elbow plank) plank JACKS
    3- absolutions
    4- bonnie blairs
    5- smurf JACKS
    6- Lt. Dans
Lucky 7??? a JACK web ladder (Jack Webb is equal numbers of merkins followed by air presses, typically done from the knees) to 7. So 1/1, then 2/2, 3/3 and so on up to 7/7

The workout–complete 6 more loops to finish with 7 laps of 7 stations with 7 reps each time, including the jackpot ladder to 7 of Jack Webbs. Most PAX finished their 5th or 6th lap, but everybody kept moving and away from frostbite. There was also some terrific mumble chatter going on.

    COT with Doubtfire 6
Doubtfire just returned from the FL Keys on vacation. He described how he was moved and a little bit FOMO’d to read about the boys back home posting in the frigid temps and putting up pics of ice-beards. Just goes to show what kind of strong community F3 builds.

Prayers for Dallas, who recently and unexpectedly lost his son.
