On May 13th 2020 at Field of Dreams, F3 Black Swamp “starfish” expanded from F3Toledo. Over the last 18 months we’ve navigated through a pandemic, helped build an inclusive playground, supported Habitat for Humanity, the Red Cross and other local organizations, welcomed numerous FNG’s, and focused everyday on invigorating male community leadership on both sides of the Maumee River. Let’s converge once again at Field of Dreams, celebrate what we’ve accomplished and welcome a new F3 Black Swamp Nan’tan who will lead us through the rest of 2021 and beyond.

Come one come all, join in this, sure to be large, group of high impact men to put some work in. There will be a few stations with members of the leadership team leading those stations.

  1. Black Swamp Convergence
    Date: October 30, 2021
    Location: Field of Dreams
QIC: Geppetto, Woodstock, Coconut, Lego, Hannibal, Meatloaf, Doubtfire
PAX: Huckleberry, Bourbon, Footloose, Geppetto, Woodstock, Coconut, Lego, Hannibal, Meatloaf, Doubtfire, Casper, Stark, Lonzo, Mercy, Tagalong, Radio, Thai Guy, Nature Boy, Roundup, Sherpa, Tweety, Solo, Van Gogh, Callahan, Jennay, Flo, Cinnamons, Huffy, Heisenberg, Reset, Jimmy Dean, Cobra Commander, Colonel, Ozzie, Isosceles, Chit Chat, Charmin, Stalker, Lyman, Fat Amy, Bonds, Picante, Hoser

No FNG’s so right into Mission and Principles:
    F3 – Fitness, Fellowship, Faith
Mission –Plant, grow and serve small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership.
The core principles of F3 are that it must:
    Be free of charge
    Be open to all men
Be held outdoors, rain or shine, heat or cold (except when the governor says we have to stay home)
Be led by men who participate in the workout in a rotating fashion, with no training or certification necessary. You versus you. Modify or stop an exercise if you need to. The most important thing is that nobody gets hurt.
End with a Circle of Trust
Credo: Leave no man behind but leave no man where you find him.

Count-O-Rama – 42 (we would add Isosceles mid workout for a total of 43)
Count off by threes and disperse to the three stations. 10-ish minutes per station and rotate until each group has gone through all three stations

    The “Thang”:
Station One: Q’s Doubtfire and Meatloaf: PAX must carry four cinder blocks and two railroad ties 50 yards to the cone without losing contact with each other. Gently place coupons in the grass once everyone has gotten past the cone. Line up single file and move all four cinder blocks from the back of the line to the front of the line and then starting at the back each man army crawls through the mud between PAX legs until all PAX have gone through. Carry cinder blocks and railroad ties back to the start position. Plank while Doubtfire shared some words about leadership. Awesome station! It was like a mini Grow Ruck!

Station Two: Q’s Coconut and Woodstock. Warm up in cadence (Woodstock) – Windmills, air presses and chain breakers. The Thang – Merkin Suicides. Run from end line to first cone, perform three merkins then run back to end line. Run to the second cone, perform 6 merkins, run to the first cone, perform 3 merkins, and run to the end line. Repeat this pattern until the final leg of 15, 12, 9, 6, 3 merkins. Pick up the six once you’ve completed the full workout. Cool down in cadence (Coconut) – Smurf Jacks, Twinkle Toes. Awesome station! Simple but effective.

Station Three: Q’s Lego and Hannibal. F3 Baseball. Beat the Drum at home plate, spring to first base and perform Merkins and BBSU’s. Bear Crawl to 2nd base and perform Bonnie Blairs and Imperial Walkers, bear crawl to 3rd base and perform Carolina Dry Docks and American Hammers. Sprint to home and repeato until time was called. Wet, muddy field – perfect for bear crawls! Nice work by the Q’s!

PAX then mosied back to the parking lot for Count o Rama (43), Name o Rama, The Six, Nantan transition, announcements and prayer.

Sharing of the Six: Geppetto – Completely blown away by the fact that my family was there to share a portion of the day with them. It stirred up some emotions and I could not hold back. It was an honor and privilege to serve the PAX as Black Swamp Nantan. So many awesome things have been accomplished by the HIM of this group in a short eighteen months. Inclusive Playground, Habitat for Humanity Playhouse Build, Food For Thought, Blood Drives, etc. Keep accelerating, find something that you are passionate about and go after it!

Nantan transition: Bourbon’s passion for F3 is evident in how much he cares about the PAX and the growth and acceleration of our region. He is going to be a great leader and will push PAX to get the most out of themselves. Bourbon gave a brief history of F3 in Northwest Ohio, brought Colonel into the circle and Colonel gave a little background on F3 Nation’s resistance to launch F3 in Toledo. Colonel said we should all be proud of the fact that we have built F3 Black Swamp into something special in Perrysburg, Maumee, Waterville, Rossford, Grand Rapids, etc. Bourbon also brought Woodstock into the middle and talked about his efforts in getting F3 going in Maumee.

Announcements (Doubtfire): New Whitehouse AO launching Friday November 12th. Gear order goes until November 3rd. The Regional Pride Challenge is in full swing. 3rd F opportunities at Mosaic, Food for Thought, etc. 2nd F event following beatdown at Iso’s house.

    Prayer (Coconut)

    END

    Moleskin/Spreadsheet from the Gloom:
    40’s, dark, soggy
Great to see 43 PAX at the Convergence!!! Including four PAX from F3 Toledo.
Terrific work by the station Q’s.
It has been an honor, a blessing and a privilege to serve as Nantan of F3 Black Swamp.
