One part Fitness, one part Intellectual, mix in some Fellowship and you have a calorie burn for the body that fuels the soul. Throw some weight in a ruck sack, head off on a 2-3 mile hike while your mind is led through Q source material straight from the creators of F3 and other leadership development programs.

Mental Fortitude: a week before the CSAUP
As many of us prepare for the CSAUP or other personal goals, we will examine our successes and failures and find lessons to apply to future challenges.
    1) Think of a challenging physical event (race, ruck, workout) where you rose to the challenge and succeeded. How was it challenging and why did you succeed?
    2) Think of a challenging physical event (race, ruck, workout) that did not go as planned and you failed to meet your goal. What went wrong?
    3) What is the difference between the version of you who competed in those two events? Was the difference more mental or physical?
    4) Mental Fortitude is the key. It has been said that athletic performance is 90% mental and 10% physical. Tip #1 Connect to your ‘Why’. We are more willing and able to endure discomfort if it is attached to a meaningful purpose or long-term goal. What is your meaningful ‘Why’ you are doing the CSAUP?
    5) Tip #2 Find a Way, Not Excuses. Willingness and optimism are created by self-talk. When you encounter discomfort, bring positive “I am” statements to life such as “I am willing to keep pushing. I am capable of this effort.” What are some positive statements that you have used or can use when facing discomfort?
    6) Tip #3 Actively Visualize Race Day Scenarios. Imagine ideal race day execution, where you are strong, confident, and successful. Also imagine difficulties arising. Bad weather, a physical ailment, equipment failure. Visualize yourself dealing with these calmly and effectively. What challenges could arise in the CSAUP?
    7) Tip #4 Train Purposefully in Unpleasant Conditions. Training in a variety of weather conditions has been shown to improve mental toughness. F3 has us covered. It’s even a core principle! Has F3 training made you more mentally tough?

Meet the six by ‘One More’ Fat Thor. A sincere and heartfelt testimony to the brotherhood of F3.

    Prayers for Luke and Flyover
