Notes from the Gloom: a warm 40-degrees and foggy today as we remember the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor.
Warmup: 188 Side-Straddle Hops (to remember the number of planes lost during the attack)
The Thang:
The Japanese attack began with 6 aircraft carriers. We simulated the attack with Bear Crawling to four cones (every two parking spaces). Did 50 overhead claps and 50 Supermans with arms out to the sides (or 25 Dive Bombers) and each cone then Bear Crawled back.
There were 15 ships attacked and damaged (3 a total loss. The Arizona, Oklahoma, and Utah) While one guy did a Kamikaze (Suicide starting at far cone with 3 burpees at each cone) everyone else did 15 Carolina Dry Docks, 15 4-count flutterkicks, 15 Lt. Dans then plank. Start over the exercises when the next guy starts the Kamikaze.
Ended with remembering that awful Affleck-Hartnett-Garner Pearl Harbor film with the “Love Triangle” – Set a 3-minute timer and spaced ourselves out around a triangle of 3 cones. 10 sumo squats at one cone, 10 gas pumpers at another, 10 Mike tysons at another, Bear Crawl in between each cone.. 3 burpees if you get passed by the guy behind you.
